On July 10, Renault Group announced that its subsidiaries Amper, CICC Private Equity, Hangzhou Capital, and Hangzhou High-tech Investment signed a partnership agreement for a new energy vehicle industry fund in Hangzhou. This marks Renault Group's first collaboration with Chinese private institutions and local industrial capital, aiming to build a virtuous cycle of 'technological innovation + industrial capital empowerment + international verification.' The fund will focus on advanced areas such as batteries, intelligent driving, smart cockpits, software, and embodied intelligence, seeking to explore investment opportunities in the new energy vehicle ecosystem, achieving mutual benefits for invested companies, strategic partners, and investors, while fostering a supportive industrial chain to promote industrial upgrades. Previously, in 2024, Renault Group established the Advanced China Development Center (ACDC) R&D team in China, responsible for the entire vehicle development process, as part of Renault Group's global R&D network. The signing of this partnership agreement is a significant step in Renault Group's ecological strategy in China, following the establishment of the ACDC. In China, Renault Group has shifted from a vertical cooperation system with suppliers to a horizontal system led by ecological strategy, accelerating the group's electrification process through continuous development of collaborative ecosystems. Under this model, Renault Group is actively expanding its ecosystem cooperation encompassing OEMs and supply chains. Additionally, as part of the global R&D network, ACDC aims to serve as a bridge linking Renault Group to the Chinese ecosystem. The next generation of Renault's pure electric compact car, Twingo, is set to be launched in Europe in 2026, with its R&D work completed within the ecosystem linked by ACDC. ACDC will also share the responsibility for developing the next generation of Dacia and Nissan A-segment electric vehicles. The official statement indicated that this fund collaboration extends Renault Group's ecological strategy into the forefront of technological innovation, representing an innovative upgrade of Renault Group's ecological cooperation model in China. This will further expand Renault Group's 'circle of friends' in China, transitioning from 'ecological participants' to 'ecological builders and enablers' and accelerating Renault Group's transformation into a next-generation automotive company.
