Kia Telluride Test Spy Photos Revealed, Offering Gasoline and Hybrid Options
Recently, a set of test spy photos of the Kia Telluride has been unveiled. Positioned as a large SUV, it will offer both gasoline and hybrid options. The gasoline version will feature a new 3.5-liter engine with a maximum power output of 291 horsepower (214 kW) and a peak torque of 352 Nm. The hybrid model is equipped with a 2.5T turbocharged engine, dual motors, and a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering a combined power of 334 horsepower (245 kW) and a peak torque of 459 Nm. The spy photos show that the new vehicle is covered in heavy camouflage, but its tall body and straight lines are evident, aligning well with the large SUV classification and giving it a commanding presence. The overall body silhouette is quite similar to the Hyundai Palisade, and it is expected to feature three rows of seating. The front grille adopts a black mesh design, flanked by vertically arranged headlights, giving the Telluride a sharper front appearance. The lower bumper comes in two different styles; one is relatively traditional with a wide air intake, central sensors, and fog lights, while the second design is sportier, featuring protruding fang-like black decorative panels for a more rugged feel. From the side view, hidden door handles, large black wheels, and blacked-out A, B, and C pillars add a stylish touch to the new vehicle. The roof rack enhances its versatility, while the sturdy D-pillar gives a solid visual impression. At the rear, vertical brake lights echo the shape of the front headlights. The spy photos indicate that a trailer hitch is installed at the rear, but the towing capacity of the hybrid version will be approximately 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg) lower than that of the gasoline version. A large silver trim on the lower bumper adds depth to the rear design. In terms of dimensions, the Telluride will be 2.5 inches (64 mm) shorter than the Hyundai Palisade, with a wheelbase reduced by 2.7 inches (69 mm).
