Recently, Car Quality Network learned from relevant sources that Buick has officially announced more details about the new GL8 Landlord PHEV model. Besides adopting a brand new family design, it has also made several upgrades in configuration and power, such as comprehensive heating for the rear seats, a one-button VIP mode for the second row, and electric adjustments for both front and rear seats. The new vehicle is expected to be officially launched at the end of August. In terms of appearance, the new model features the 'Avenir' luxury aesthetic design with a highly recognizable new family front face, equipped with a large front grille adorned with a grid-style chrome decoration. The 'star ring' divided front headlights support seven intelligent lighting modes, delivering impressive illumination effects. The new 'Purple Qi Comes from the East' color option is particularly noteworthy, with the official statement indicating that the paint employs an eight-layer coating process with over one million colorful nano glass beads per square meter, creating a dynamic color effect under sunlight. The interior follows the consistent design philosophy of the Buick GL8 family, featuring a large area of soft-touch materials. Additionally, the new dual-screen setup, multifunctional steering wheel, and electronic gear selector are also present, enhancing both practicality and a strong sense of technology. According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new Buick GL8 Landlord PHEV will offer both six-seat and seven-seat layouts. The rear seats have received comprehensive upgrades, featuring a 'surround heating system' that covers not only the seat cushion and backrest but also extends to the armrests and leg rests. Furthermore, the second-row seats support a one-button VIP mode, with 315mm long slide electric adjustment and a 160-degree large angle adjustment + electric leg rest, significantly enhancing riding comfort. Notably, when the sliding side door opens, the unique 'Avenir Silver Wing' concierge welcome mat and 128-color ambient lighting create a prestigious welcoming experience for passengers. In terms of power, the new vehicle is equipped with a 'True Dragon' plug-in hybrid Pro system that combines a 1.5T four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined power of 292 kW and a combined torque of 580 N·m. The official 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 7.8 seconds. Additionally, the new model features a triple AI intelligent control algorithm, which allows it to maintain high-speed driving for extended periods even when the battery is low, effectively preventing 'electric vehicle motion sickness'. More updates on the new vehicle will be continuously followed and reported by Car Quality Network.
