Beijing Benz Recalls Some Domestic EQC Vehicles

Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) in accordance with the regulations on the management of defective automobile product recalls. The recall, identified as S2025M0092I, will affect 13,447 domestic EQC vehicles produced between November 30, 2018, and September 17, 2022, starting from September 27, 2025. Some vehicles within this recall range may experience thermal runaway of the high-voltage battery due to issues in the battery management system software design, posing a fire hazard. This recall follows the initiation of a defect investigation by SAMR. Beijing Benz will upgrade the battery management system software of the affected vehicles through authorized dealers to eliminate the safety risks. To ensure safety before the official recall measures are implemented, users are advised to limit their vehicle's charging to no more than 80%. Affected users will be notified via registered mail, and they can contact the customer service hotline at 400-818-1188 for inquiries (available 24/7). Additional information can be found on the SAMR recall center website or their WeChat official account.
