NIO’s founder, chairman, and CEO, William Li, has confirmed that deliveries for the new Onvo L60 sedan will commence in September of this year. The Onvo brand is positioned as a more affordable, mainstream family-oriented alternative to the premium NIO brand.
The Onvo L60 was officially unveiled in May with a pre-sale price of 219,900 yuan, which is 30,000 yuan cheaper than the Tesla Model Y. The vehicle is built on a 900V high-voltage platform and boasts an impressive energy consumption of just 12.1 kWh per 100 km.
The L60 will be offered with three different battery pack options: a 60 kWh pack, a 90 kWh pack, and a 150 kWh semi-solid-state battery pack. The vehicle will also support NIO’s battery swapping technology, providing users with access to NIO’s extensive network of Power Swap stations.
The interior features a 17.2-inch central control screen and an 8-inch rear passenger screen. The L60 is also equipped with NIO’s self-developed intelligent driving chip, the Shenji NX9031.
William Li has stated that the Onvo brand is expected to be a significant volume driver for NIO, with a target of selling over 20,000 units per month.
