On June 19, a video conference was held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Fire Rescue Bureau to discuss strengthening safety management for new energy vehicles (NEVs). The meeting outlined several specific requirements aimed at enhancing the safety levels of NEVs. It highlighted the significant achievements in China's NEV industry and emphasized the need to cherish these accomplishments. All parties are urged to balance development and safety, remain vigilant against safety risks, and continuously improve safety standards to maintain a positive industry development landscape. Vehicle manufacturers and battery producers are expected to take responsibility for product quality, implement risk prevention measures in design, manufacturing, and after-sales services, and not engage in exaggerated or false advertising. The three departments also called for adherence to long-term strategies and the avoidance of unhealthy competition that compromises product quality for short-term gains. Moving forward, they plan to enhance collaboration, promote information sharing, conduct safety inspections, increase supervision of production consistency, and take strict action against violations to maintain order in the industry and promote high-quality development of China's smart connected NEV sector. Representatives from various government departments and industry organizations attended the meeting.
