Stellantis and its joint venture Leapmotor International have announced a 10% price reduction for their electric vehicles in the UK market. This initiative, named 'Leapmotor Subsidy', applies to models manufactured in China and takes effect immediately. The price drop precedes the UK government's upcoming subsidy for new electric vehicles, the details of which are still unclear. The subsidy program, funded by Leapmotor, will start on July 18 and offers up to £3,750 in purchase incentives. As a result, the price of the Leapmotor T03, a compact electric city car, will be reduced to £14,495, while the family electric SUV C10 will see its price drop to £32,750. Notably, both models currently offer zero-interest installment payment plans. The T03 has a WLTP range of up to 165 miles, supports DC fast charging, and is equipped with 10 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features, along with high-end configurations such as a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, a sensor-equipped rear parking camera, keyless start, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The C10, positioned as a spacious and technologically advanced family SUV, boasts a WLTP range of 263 miles, and is equipped with numerous premium features including a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, heated steering wheel and seats, a 12-speaker sound system, and dual HD displays. Leapmotor stated that this subsidy allows consumers to receive immediate purchase benefits and can be combined with the upcoming UK government subsidy policy. Damien Dally, General Manager of Leapmotor UK, mentioned, 'Our mission is to help UK drivers transition smoothly to electric vehicles. We decided to take action now because we want to provide clear information, confidence, and immediate savings to make the choice of buying an electric vehicle simple for consumers.' Leapmotor also offers a four-year warranty on every vehicle, with the battery guaranteed for eight years.
