Recently, Car Quality Network obtained a set of spy shots of the Hyundai IONIQ 2 from overseas media. The new model is positioned as a pure electric compact car and is expected to be built on Hyundai's E-GMP platform, featuring a distinctive sporty design style. From the exposed spy shots, the test vehicle adopts the family design language of the Hyundai IONIQ series, with a flat and wide clamshell hood that is easily recognizable. The side profile is compact, and the short front and rear overhangs not only enhance maneuverability but also provide relatively spacious interior space. Additionally, the blacked-out low-drag wheels paired with Hankook iON GT tires align with its sporty positioning. The rear end is quite full, with a relatively flat angle for the rear windshield, distinguishing it from conventional compact hatchbacks and adding a unique flair. The trunk's unique shape may likely adopt a segmented opening method, offering a more convenient user experience and increased cargo space. As for the powertrain, the official details have not been released yet. Based on current information, the vehicle is likely built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform, equipped with a 58.3 kWh battery pack and a single motor drive system with a total power output of 150 kW. Car Quality Network will continue to monitor and report on further details about the new vehicle.
