Sensata Technologies Launches High Efficiency Contactor for EVs

On July 17, Sensata Technologies announced the launch of its High Efficiency Contactor (HEC), designed to simplify the transition of electric vehicle (EV) architecture from 400V to 800V. This HEC is seamlessly compatible with both traditional and next-generation charging infrastructure, offering exceptional safety, efficiency, and simplified system integration. As the electric vehicle industry accelerates towards 800V systems for faster charging speeds and higher efficiency, compatibility with existing 400V charging infrastructure remains a critical challenge. Sensata's HEC addresses this issue by supporting battery reconfiguration between 400V and 800V.
