SAIC Audi Launches New A5L Sportback Model

On August 1, 2025, SAIC Audi officially launched the new A5L Sportback model. The new car is available in six variants, including Luxury, Prestige Quattro, Intelligent, Intelligent Quattro, Flagship, and Flagship Intelligent. The official limited-time price range is set between 259,900 yuan and 369,900 yuan. Compared to the previous pre-sale prices, the new car's highest price reduction reaches 14,000 yuan, with an average reduction of about 10,000 yuan. The design of the new A5L Sportback is led by German designer Jakob Hirzel and his team, who emphasized the core goals of 'dynamic, posture, and unique temperament' in the design philosophy. In terms of exterior details, the new car features a polygonal grille, a coupe-like silhouette, frameless doors, and a hatchback tailgate. The vehicle is available in seven color options, including Racing Red, Hurricane Gray, Phantom Black, Intelligent Blue, Discovery Green, Dawn Beige, and Bright White. Inside the cabin, the new A5L Sportback is equipped with a high-definition 3D curved display composed of an 11.9-inch LCD instrument panel and a 14.5-inch central control screen. The roof features a PDLC adjustable transparency panoramic sunroof. On the technology front, the new A5L Sportback is built on Audi's latest luxury fuel vehicle platform, the PPC architecture, which represents a significant upgrade in electrification and intelligent systems compared to the previous generation's MLB Evo platform. It is equipped with Huawei's Qian Kun intelligent solution, enabling functions such as urban navigation assist, complex ramp merging and exiting, and 120-meter traceable reversing. The vehicle features two laser radars, twelve high-definition cameras, six millimeter-wave radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. In terms of driving performance, the new A5L Sportback comes standard with a front and rear five-link independent suspension system and a progressive steering system. The new generation CDC (Continuous Damping Control) suspension system enhances both the vehicle's handling performance and ride comfort. The four-wheel-drive version of the new A5L Sportback is equipped with the Quattro intelligent four-wheel-drive system, which features a higher degree of electronic integration control compared to previous mechanical differential systems, allowing for torque distribution between the front and rear axles based on different driving scenarios. The launch of the new SAIC Audi A5L Sportback marks a new development stage for this classic model series, continuing its core design language while advancing in the fields of intelligence, electrification, and chassis control technology.
