Recent spy photos of the new Volkswagen Magotan plug-in hybrid have surfaced, showing the vehicle undergoing intensive testing in Europe. The car is expected to be launched by the end of this year and is anticipated to enter the Chinese market in 2026, with an electric-only range exceeding 100 km. As this is a test vehicle and not in mass production, it features non-production components despite lacking camouflage. The design of the plug-in hybrid closely follows that of the fuel version. Interior differences include the absence of a passenger screen and the addition of two wireless charging panels below the central control screen. In terms of performance, the new vehicle is expected to have a combined power output of 200 kW, significantly improving upon the current 380 TSI model, while maintaining a balanced overall performance.
