Mitsubishi Grandis Official Images Released as Compact SUV for European Families

Recently, it has been reported that Mitsubishi has officially released images of the Grandis, a new compact SUV aimed at European families. Although it is based on the Renault Symbioz platform, the two models have completely different exterior styles; the Symbioz is essentially a stretched version of the Renault Captur. From the official images, the Mitsubishi Grandis features classic design elements typical of Mitsubishi's compact SUVs, such as the iconic trapezoidal grille at the front. The darkened front headlights are connected to the grille, complemented by intricately designed daytime running lights on either side, creating a highly recognizable front end. The side profile is taut and muscular, closely resembling previous Mitsubishi compact SUV designs, while the addition of 19-inch wheels enhances its sporty feel. The rear design is also muscular, showcasing elongated tail lights, sharp lines, and an exaggerated rear bumper that appeals to younger consumers. Inside, the overall design of the new model is simple, featuring a traditional layout with a 10.4-inch vertical central touchscreen and a compact electronic gear shifter that adds a touch of sophistication. Additionally, the new vehicle can be equipped with an adjustable panoramic sunroof. In terms of powertrains, the new model offers both mild hybrid and hybrid options. The mild hybrid variant is equipped with a 1.3T turbocharged engine producing a maximum power of 103 kW, available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The hybrid model has a combined system power of 118 kW and can achieve up to 80% pure electric driving in urban settings, providing a 40% reduction in fuel consumption.
