On the morning of July 21, the State Council Information Office held a press conference themed 'High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan'. Liu Wei, Minister of Transport, emphasized the importance of traffic service guarantees during peak travel periods on highways, particularly during holidays. He identified two main risks: congestion on highways around large cities and the strain on electric vehicle charging facilities at service areas. In response to the busy charging service areas, the Ministry of Transport has implemented a 'one zone, one policy' approach to strengthen services, resulting in the construction of 62,000 charging parking spaces. The coverage rate of charging stations in service areas has now reached 98.4%, effectively alleviating 'range anxiety'. The proportion of new energy vehicles on highways has increased to about 20% on average daily.
