Recently, Car Quality Network learned from relevant sources that Mercedes-Benz has officially released the latest spy photos of the all-electric GLC. The new vehicle will first launch the GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ technology, scheduled to debut at the Munich Motor Show this September. It will feature Mercedes' new 800V electrical architecture, promising a maximum range expected to exceed 650km. The exterior of the new car is still heavily camouflaged, but according to CEO Ola Källenius, its front design will draw inspiration from the classic model 300 SEL 6.3, blending retro and technological elements. Reportedly, the grille will be a visual highlight, modernizing the iconic grille style of Mercedes from the 1960s. In terms of body structure, the electric GLC will be developed on the MB.EA platform, with a wheelbase extended by about 80mm compared to the gasoline version (2890mm), providing more spacious rear seating and greater storage capacity. The trunk volume is said to reach 570L, expandable to a maximum of 1740L, while also offering 128L of front trunk space for further practicality. In terms of performance, the electric GLC will be equipped with the eATS 2.0 electric drive unit, including a radial motor and dual-speed transmission system. The standard version will offer a single motor rear-wheel drive (maximum power of 272hp) and a dual motor all-wheel drive (maximum power of 489hp) configuration, with a high-performance AMG version planned for the future, potentially reaching 608hp and 0-100km/h acceleration in the 4-second range. Officially, the acceleration experience is expected to be close to that of the AMG GT, raising anticipation for its performance. Additionally, the new vehicle supports a maximum of 320kW DC fast charging, allowing for a range boost of 260km in just 10 minutes. Its maximum towing capacity reaches 2400kg, surpassing the electric Porsche Macan. The chassis will offer an optional air suspension system, enabling a maximum of 4.5 degrees of active steering at the rear wheels, providing dual assurance for comfort and handling. The vehicle is expected to be produced in Bremen, Germany, Beijing, China, and potentially Tuscaloosa, USA, with a synchronized global market rollout. More information about the new vehicle will be continuously monitored and reported by Car Quality Network.
