This week saw significant developments in the automotive industry both domestically and internationally. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) launched an online feedback window for car companies' payment issues, aiming to address complaints from small and medium-sized enterprises about major car manufacturers' compliance with payment deadlines. The new regulations, effective from January 1, 2026, will prohibit default single-pedal braking and require the installation of anti-lock braking systems (ABS) in all newly approved passenger vehicles. Meanwhile, GAC Fiat Chrysler announced its bankruptcy due to insurmountable debts, and the joint venture "Jianglai Manufacturing" between NIO and JAC was dissolved. Additionally, Evergrande Automobile had 437,000 square meters of land reclaimed due to inactivity, and Webasto Americas plans to temporarily halt operations at its Michigan plant and lay off 134 employees due to decreased automotive production.
