Recently, Chezhinet learned from relevant sources that Li Auto will officially launch its first all-electric six-seat SUV, the Li Auto i8, on July 29. The new vehicle is positioned as a mid-to-large all-electric SUV, with an expected price range of 350,000 to 400,000 yuan, and will compete in the market against models such as the AITO M9 electric version, Tesla Model X, and NIO ES8. From the latest official images, the Li Auto i8's interior features a continuous three-screen design, including a central control large screen, a passenger entertainment screen, and a HUD head-up display system, paired with a white flat-bottom steering wheel and a streaming rearview mirror, presenting a strong technological ambiance and futuristic feel. In terms of exterior design, the new vehicle's front shape is increasingly focused on low drag design, with clean and smooth lines throughout. The rear continues the family design language of the Li Auto L series, showcasing a unified visual style. In terms of dimensions, the Li Auto i8 measures 5085mm in length, 1960mm in width, and 1740mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3050mm, providing strong spatial performance aimed at family travel needs. Regarding intelligent driving, the new vehicle will be equipped with Li Auto's next-generation driver assistance system, MindVLA, and an upgraded Hesai ATX LiDAR, with a maximum detection range of 300m and support for up to 256 lines of output, significantly enhancing overall resolution. It will be paired with the NVIDIA Drive AGX Thor-U smart driving chip, boasting a single computing power of 700 TOPS. The official statement indicates that MindVLA has capabilities for visual, language, and behavioral interaction, supporting natural language communication, and can be seen as a virtual driving assistant that 'understands human language.' In terms of power, the Li Auto i8 will feature a front and rear dual-motor intelligent four-wheel-drive system with a total power output of 400kW, consisting of a 150kW front motor and a 250kW rear motor. The battery will, for the first time, utilize 5C ternary lithium battery technology, offering two capacity options of 90.1kWh and 97.8kWh, corresponding to a range of 670km and 720km under CLTC conditions, balancing energy efficiency and long-range performance.
