Huawei Unveils Ambitious Plans for Intelligent Assisted Driving

On July 11, at the 2025 China Automotive Forum, Li Wenguang, President of Huawei's Intelligent Driving Solutions Product Line, attended the forum and delivered a speech outlining Huawei's grand plans in the field of intelligent assisted driving. Li introduced that Huawei has a clear and compact timetable for advancing intelligent assisted driving technology. This year, Huawei will focus on pilot commercial use of L3 technology while also conducting testing for L4. During this phase, Huawei aims to gather practical operational data through pilot commercial use to verify the stability and reliability of L3 technology in different scenarios, laying the foundation for subsequent large-scale commercialization. Meanwhile, L4 testing will explore the feasibility and potential issues of higher-level autonomous driving technologies. Next year, Huawei plans to promote large-scale commercialization of L3, meaning that the technology will be applied in a wider range of areas and scenarios, providing consumers with a more convenient and safe travel experience. At the same time, pilot work in urban scenarios will continue, as urban roads are complex and variable with numerous traffic participants, posing significant challenges for intelligent assisted driving technology. Ongoing pilots will help Huawei continuously optimize its technology and improve its ability to handle complex scenarios. By 2027, Huawei plans to achieve large-scale commercialization of L4. In 2028, Huawei aims to achieve its goal of unmanned trunk logistics, enhancing logistics transportation efficiency and reducing logistics costs through intelligent assisted driving technology. Regarding this seemingly aggressive plan, Li stated that if Huawei can achieve its goals by 2027, it will be one year behind Tesla. This not only reflects Huawei's determination and urgency in the field of intelligent assisted driving but also highlights the fierce competition in the global intelligent assisted driving market. With its strong technological strength and innovative capability, Huawei is accelerating its quest in the intelligent assisted driving race, and is expected to make significant contributions to the global development of intelligent assisted driving, pushing the entire industry into a new phase of development.
