Horizon President Chen Liming: Mid-High Level Intelligent Driving Reaches Inflection Point
On July 11, at the 2025 China Automotive Forum, Chen Liming, President of Horizon, stated that mid-high level intelligent driving has reached an inflection point and will witness rapid growth. He compared the growth of intelligent driving to that of smartphones, which have brought real value to users. Chen outlined three main drivers for this growth: first, intelligent driving is a crucial aspect of the national development strategy for intelligent connected new energy vehicles. Second, the industry is pushing for wider adoption, with features like NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) becoming available in more affordable vehicles. Finally, the demand from Chinese consumers, who prioritize intelligence in their vehicle choices, is significant. Horizon has also announced further collaboration with Volkswagen on their full-scene intelligent driving solution, Horizon SuperDrive™, which aims to provide a seamless driving experience in various scenarios. The technology behind Horizon’s intelligent driving system is now being extensively tested and is set to launch with new electric models in 2026.
