On July 24, GAC Aion and the Hong Kong Productivity Council jointly held a delivery ceremony for the first GOVY AirCab prototype in Hong Kong. This event marks a significant advancement in GAC Aion's research and commercialization process in the field of low-altitude travel, providing new momentum for the practical application and promotion of low-altitude travel technology. The GOVY AirCab, the third mass-produced multi-rotor flying car under GAC Aion, is designed to meet the needs of urban internal and short-distance low-altitude travel. It has a range capability of 20 to 30 kilometers, suitable for various scenarios such as urban sightseeing and short business trips, offering citizens a new travel option. The fuselage is primarily made of carbon fiber composite materials, accounting for over 90%, effectively reducing the weight of the vehicle, improving flight efficiency, and enhancing the strength and durability of the body. In terms of safety design, the GOVY AirCab employs multiple redundancy systems covering critical areas such as power, energy, flight control, and communication, aiming to ensure flight safety from multiple perspectives. Additionally, it features a rapid recharging capability, requiring only 25 minutes to complete charging, significantly shortening waiting times and improving operational efficiency. The inclusion of intelligent low-altitude obstacle avoidance functionality allows the GOVY AirCab to automatically perceive and avoid obstacles in complex low-altitude environments, ensuring safe and smooth flights. GAC Aion, supported by GAC Group, has been committed to the research, production, sales, and operational services of flying cars and related ecological products. The successful delivery of the GOVY AirCab prototype not only tests GAC Aion's commercialization capabilities but also lays a foundation for further development in the low-altitude travel field. The flying car has entered the airworthiness certification stage and is expected to obtain certification and achieve mass production delivery in the second half of 2026. In terms of market promotion, GAC Aion previously garnered nearly a thousand intention orders when launching the GOVY AirCab in Hong Kong, indicating strong market interest and anticipation. This prototype delivery further proves GAC Aion's strength in product research and production and provides robust support for subsequent market expansion. In addition to the GOVY AirCab, GAC Aion has also laid out a technology roadmap for 'short-distance multi-rotor + intercity compound wing', developing several products such as the distributed flying car AirCar and the compound wing flying car AirJet. The launch of these products will help fully utilize low-altitude airspace, provide new solutions for intercity transportation, and promote personnel flow and economic exchanges between regions. As an international metropolis and transportation hub, Hong Kong has unique advantages in the development of low-altitude travel. The collaboration between GAC Aion and the Hong Kong Productivity Council will help promote the research and application of low-altitude travel technology in the Greater Bay Area, providing experience and references for global low-altitude travel development.
