FAW-Volkswagen Recalls Certain Sagitar Cars

FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) in accordance with the regulations on the recall of defective automotive products. Starting from July 15, 2025, a total of 202,662 Sagitar vehicles produced between September 1, 2018, and August 19, 2019, will be recalled. The vehicles in the recall are affected by a moisture-resistant material deficiency in the wheel speed sensor housing. In high-temperature and high-humidity environments, water or moisture may penetrate the internal chip, leading to incorrect wheel speed sensor signals and the potential disabling of functions such as the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), posing safety risks. This recall is initiated following a defect investigation launched by the SAMR. FAW-Volkswagen will authorize dealers to replace the affected wheel speed sensors free of charge to eliminate safety hazards. Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by registered mail. Customers can call the Volkswagen brand customer service hotline at 400-817-1888 for more details on the recall. Additional information can also be found on the SAMR recall center website www.samrdprc.org.cn, www.recall.org.cn, or by following the WeChat public account (SAMRDPRC).
