Recently, we obtained a set of spy photos showcasing the interior of the all-new BMW X5. Although the vehicle is still in the early stages of camouflage, we can glean some details. The all-new X5 is built on the CLAR platform and is expected to be released in 2026. The interior is anticipated to feature BMW's latest digital cockpit, likely equipped with a panoramic display that stretches between the top of the dashboard and the bottom of the windshield. It is noteworthy that the car does not come with a digital instrument panel, leading to speculation that it may adopt an AR-HUD head-up display that spans across the entire windshield, potentially inspired by the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X concept car. Additionally, the interior includes a large 17.9-inch touchscreen and a lever-style gear shifter. Familiar features such as a dial for volume control and a hazard warning button can also be seen. Interestingly, the interior does not provide an iDrive controller, suggesting that tactile buttons may be placed on the steering wheel. A red marker at the 12 o'clock position of the steering wheel and M stitching indicate that this is a BMW M performance model. Previous spy images have shown that the all-new X5 will be heavily influenced by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept car design, paying homage to BMW’s classic kidney grille with a more elongated shape. The exterior will feature a very retro, elongated kidney grille, with headlights integrated into the decorative panel of the grille. The test vehicle's front bumper has multiple engine cooling vents, indicating a sporty design with exaggerated cooling outlets and air ducts. The side profile showcases a prominent waistline, conveying a sense of power and dynamism. The large wheels are treated with a black finish, hinting at an overall blacked-out theme for the vehicle. The rear also exhibits a sporty character, with the new model expected to retain the design of the tailgate and possibly feature a continuous tail light design. The all-new BMW X5 (codename G65) will offer a rich variety of powertrains, including gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid, with the possibility of retaining a V8 version overseas. Additionally, a fully electric iX5 is set to be launched, employing the sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, which includes a new electronic architecture, efficient electric drive systems, and sixth-generation power batteries. According to recent news, BMW is also planning to revive the range-extended power system (REx), with the first model to feature this system being the upcoming sixth-generation X5. The feasibility of adapting this system for the sixth-generation X3 and the second-generation X7, set to launch in 2026, is also under evaluation.
