Wuling has officially opened pre-sales for its new SUV, the Starlight S, with a starting price of 109,800 yuan for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version. A pure electric (EV) version of the vehicle will also be offered.
The Starlight S is a compact SUV, measuring 4745mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1680mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2800mm. It features a design that is consistent with the rest of the Starlight family, with distinctive L-shaped daytime running lights and a clean, modern aesthetic.
The interior is equipped with a floating central control screen and a full LCD instrument cluster. The vehicle also comes with a panoramic sunroof and a spacious rear seating area.
The PHEV version is powered by a 1.5L engine and an electric motor, offering two different pure electric range options: 70 km and 150 km. The EV version will be available with a single motor and is expected to have a range of over 400 km.
The Wuling Starlight S is positioned to compete with other popular compact SUVs in the Chinese market, such as the BYD Song Pro DM-i and the Changan CS75 Plus.
