World's First Robot '6S Store' Opens in Shenzhen

On July 28, the world's first robot '6S store' opened at the Robot Theater in the Xinhai WORLD park in Longgang, Shenzhen. The store showcases hundreds of robots and their supporting components, with leading robot companies from Shenzhen and across the country participating. So, what exactly is a robot 6S store? Lin Feng, CEO of Shenzhen Future Era Robot Co., Ltd. and manager of the 6S store, explained that it expands upon the traditional 4S concept of car dealerships—Sales, Spareparts, Service, and Survey—by adding two new functions: Leasing and Customized services, forming a unique '6S' model. At the opening event of the robot '6S store', visitors could see the latest products from various types of robots including humanoid robots, robotic arms, dexterous hands, and robotic dogs, alongside demonstrations from a 'robot barista' and 'robot pancake chef'. The products showcased by various companies spanned multiple fields, including home services, medical assistance, industrial inspections, and educational companionship. For instance, the humanoid robot from Leju can assist the elderly with medication and remind them of their daily routines; the robotic dog from Yunshen can enter hazardous environments for rescue missions; and the robot from Zhujidongli can accurately transport heavy items within factories. Additionally, the robot 6S store features a 'robot spare parts supermarket' that stocks core components like servo motors and reducers, catering to mainstream robot repair needs with 'quick response and immediate repair'. It is reported that the Longgang District of Shenzhen is developing a robot-themed street within a one-square-kilometer area centered around the 6S store. In the future, diverse applications such as robots making coffee, grilling meat, and operating a 24-hour robot pharmacy will gradually be realized, potentially making this area a hub for all kinds of robot technologies and applications. The year 2025 is anticipated to be a breakthrough year for humanoid robots. From the 'handkerchief dance' at the Spring Festival Gala to the robot marathon in Beijing's Yizhuang and the robot fighting competition in Hangzhou, a series of events featuring humanoid robots have been rapidly emerging, leading to a surge in related topics trending online.
