Times Intelligent Set for Over 10 Billion Unicorn Financing Round Completion

Times Intelligent Set for Over 10 Billion Unicorn Financing Round Completion
On July 28, it was reported that Times Intelligent is set to complete its first round of financing, with a valuation exceeding 10 billion yuan, marking the emergence of a new unicorn. According to insiders, the financing is led by a well-known market investment institution, supported by capital from the new energy industry and state-owned enterprises. Given the recent business progress information released by Times Intelligent, the funds from this round of financing may be used for the mass production of its skateboard chassis project and the development of new technologies aimed at new scenarios such as RoboX. Times Intelligent, officially known as Ningde Times (Shanghai) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., is controlled by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd (CATL), which holds 80.1% of its shares. Established in July 2021 with a registered capital of 2.5 billion yuan, Times Intelligent focuses on the development of intelligent skateboard chassis. In December 2024, it plans to launch the Panshi skateboard chassis, with the high-safety flagship version, Panshi Chassis Pro, capable of withstanding a frontal column impact at 120 km/h without catching fire or exploding, significantly exceeding regulatory safety requirements. The Panshi skateboard achieves a complete decoupling of the upper and lower vehicle bodies' hardware and software for parallel development, greatly shortening the vehicle mass production cycle from product definition, development to testing and validation. Through an expandable hardware and software architecture and standardized interface design, the Panshi chassis can adapt to the needs of multiple vehicle models, enhancing industry efficiency and significantly reducing initial R&D costs through a 'shared chassis' business model. Yang Hanbing, Managing Director of Times Intelligent, believes that the future trend of the automotive industry lies in integrated intelligent chassis (skateboard chassis) combined with autonomous driving and intelligent cockpits. 'However, this trend is not achieved overnight; it requires long-term commitment, which is precisely what CATL adheres to.' Times Intelligent balances commonality and individuality through 'standardization + customization': standardized infrastructure and modular components ensure cost and efficiency, while open interfaces support differentiated development by OEMs at the upper level. So far, Times Intelligent has established partnerships with several companies, including Avita, BAIC, and JAC, with subsequent vehicle models expected to be launched between 2026 and 2027. Additionally, insiders report that Times Intelligent's overseas projects are also progressing closely, with new milestone updates expected to be disclosed soon.
