Three Exciting New Cars Launching in the Last Week of July: Li Auto i8, Ledao L90, SAIC Audi A5L
In the last week of July, three highly anticipated new cars will be launched: the Li Auto i8, Ledao L90, and SAIC Audi A5L. The biggest question remains: which one will become a bestseller? The Li Auto i8 is set to launch on July 29 and is the company's second electric vehicle following last year's MEGA, marking its first pure electric SUV. The i8 measures 5085mm in length, 1960mm in width, and 1740mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3050mm. Its design continues the style of the MEGA but is slightly more restrained, striking a balance between stability and boldness. Currently, the best-selling models from Li Auto are the L6, followed by the L7, while the L9 and L8, which are positioned higher, maintain monthly sales around 4000 units. The question remains how well the i8, which is comparable in size to the L8, will perform in sales. Reports suggest that the starting price of the i8 may be around 350,000 yuan, and based on Li Auto's pricing strategy, there may not be significant surprises in this regard. Will the Li Auto i8 become a bestseller at this price point? The Ledao L90 comes after the success of the Ledao L60, and CEO Li Bin is being cautious with this new model. Since Shen Fei took over as president of Ledao Automotive in April, the L60 has achieved over 6000 units in monthly sales for two consecutive months, though it still has a way to go to reach 10,000. The L90 has generated a lot of attention with its pre-sale price of 279,900 yuan and a battery rental option starting at 193,900 yuan, which many view positively. This indicates that the pricing of the L60 may still have room for improvement. As a large electric SUV measuring 5145mm in length, 1998mm in width, and 1766mm in height with a wheelbase of 3110mm, the pre-sale price of 279,900 yuan is considered reasonable, although brand influence may affect consumer purchasing decisions. The success of the Ledao L90 is crucial for NIO, which has incurred losses exceeding 100 billion yuan since its establishment, and Li Bin has claimed that the company will turn a profit in the fourth quarter of this year, which may hinge on this vehicle. The SAIC Audi A5L is a larger vehicle than the FAW Audi A4L, with a pre-sale price starting at 279,900 yuan, which is lower than the A4L. It is surprising that domestic brands have driven prices down so much that joint ventures must also keep their prices competitive. For reference, the official price range for the A7L is between 418,700 yuan and 666,200 yuan, with reports of the terminal price dropping to as low as 300,000 yuan, indicating a significant price reduction. Consequently, the A5L cannot justify a starting price of 300,000 yuan. Currently, the Audi A7L sells around 2000 units per month, while the A6 sells about 1000 units. SAIC Audi urgently needs a volume model to establish its brand, and the competitively priced A5L could be the upcoming bestseller. What do you think?
