Tesla has successfully completed its first autonomous vehicle delivery on June 27, according to reports. A Model Y SUV was driven autonomously from Tesla's Austin Gigafactory to the customer's apartment building without any human intervention. The official Tesla account on social media platform X shared a video showing the Model Y driving on public roads in Austin, including highways, with no one in the driver's seat or passenger seat. The vehicle navigated through residential streets and parking lots before stopping in front of the apartment to hand over the keys to the customer, who was waiting on the roadside. CEO Elon Musk praised the Tesla AI team for this milestone, stating that this delivery was the first to achieve fully autonomous driving on public highways, without any remote control at any point during the process.
