SAIC Audi A5L Sportback Set to Launch on August 1

Recently, it was reported that the SAIC Audi A5L Sportback will officially launch on August 1. The new vehicle has already begun pre-sales, offering five configuration options with a price range of 279,900 to 339,900 yuan, and a limited-time special price of 260,000 to 320,000 yuan. As the first model from SAIC Audi built on the PPC platform, the A5L Sportback will feature Huawei's driving assistance system and the fifth-generation EA888 engine. The exterior design of the A5L Sportback is crafted by German designer Jakob Hirzel, who also designed the second-generation Audi A5. The new matrix LED headlights, combined with a glowing Audi logo, offer an impressive lighting effect. The official statement indicates that the front and rear light groups support eight types of digital signatures, allowing for a variety of lighting themes. The side profile retains the classic coupe-like design, with the roofline sloping down from the C-pillar, ensuring a sporty look while providing ample rear-seat space. In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4903mm in length, 1883mm in width, and 1427mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2922mm, which is 74mm and 22mm longer than the overseas version, respectively. The taillights utilize second-generation OLED technology, featuring a floating lamp module with 364 light-emitting units. Inside, the A5L Sportback adopts Audi's new generation cockpit layout, featuring a curved integrated display composed of an 11.9-inch LCD instrument panel and a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, which tilts towards the driver for an enhanced viewing experience. Additionally, the new car is equipped with a 10.9-inch entertainment screen for the front passenger, seamlessly integrated into the center console. As for performance, the vehicle is powered by the fifth-generation EA888 engine, delivering a maximum power of 200kW, paired with a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission. The manufacturer claims the engine's fuel injection pressure reaches 500 bar, and it is equipped with new VTG variable geometry turbocharging technology and the MHEV plus super mild hybrid system, which enhance performance while effectively reducing fuel consumption.
