NIO Responds to the Cancellation of Joint Venture with JAC Motors
On July 8, the official WeChat account of NIO released a statement regarding the cancellation of Jianglai Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd., which has attracted attention in the market. Recently, a notice was added concerning the cancellation of the joint venture with JAC Motors, indicating that the company was dissolved following a resolution from June 10 to July 24. NIO stated that in 2016, they reached a strategic cooperation with JAC Motors primarily for the production of NIO's vehicle series. As the collaboration deepened, they jointly established Jianglai Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. in March 2021 to provide manufacturing support for NIO. The registered capital of Jianglai is 510 million RMB, with operations including vehicle production, production line management services, and supply chain management services, jointly held by NIO Holdings and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group. In December 2023, NIO obtained a production enterprise qualification for motor vehicles, concluding the manufacturing cooperation with JAC Motors. Consequently, the Jianglai company no longer has a need to continue operations. NIO emphasized that the decision to dissolve Jianglai was made through amicable negotiations and is a normal adjustment that will not adversely affect NIO’s production, manufacturing, or operational activities. Furthermore, NIO and JAC Motors will continue to deepen their cooperation in the fields of new energy vehicle research and development, battery swapping, and components. According to the latest data released by NIO, as of June 2025, the company delivered 24,925 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%, and a total of 72,056 vehicles were delivered in the second quarter, marking a 25.6% increase year-on-year.
