NIO Launches 1,000th Highway Battery Swap Station

NIO Launches 1,000th Highway Battery Swap Station
On July 9, NIO announced the launch of its 1,000th highway battery swap station at the Fushan Service Area on the G5011 Wuhu-Hefei Expressway. The company stated that it has completed the construction of a battery swap network connecting major cities along highways, linking 550 cities across the country, thus alleviating the anxiety of NIO and Lido users regarding highway energy replenishment. As of July 9, NIO has established a total of 3,399 battery swap stations nationwide, including 1,000 highway swap stations, 4,659 charging stations, and 26,701 charging piles, while also integrating over 129,600 third-party charging piles. Last August, NIO officially launched its "Power UP 2024" initiative to enhance the charging and battery swap network, aiming to expand services to all counties in the country, providing users with convenient, efficient, and extensive energy replenishment services. NIO aims to achieve county-level battery swapping accessibility across 27 provincial administrative regions by December 31, 2025, covering over 2,300 county-level administrative regions. Starting in 2026, NIO will focus on the remaining provincial regions, targeting over 2,800 county-level areas. In addition to enhancing its charging and battery swap network, NIO is actively collaborating with automotive companies to establish energy replenishment networks. It has already achieved interconnectivity with various automobile brands, including Zeekr, Xiaomi Auto, Avita, Chery, Dongfeng Warriors, Hongmeng Zhixing, Hongqi, Deep Blue, Aion, Zhi Mi, Lotus, Cadillac, Buick, and XPeng. Notably, in May of this year, Zeekr and NIO Energy reached a mutual interconnectivity agreement for their charging networks. Users of NIO, Lido, and Firefly can find and utilize Zeekr Energy charging piles through their apps, enhancing their charging experience. Additionally, in April, Wuhan NIO Energy Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jining High-tech Holding Group Co., Ltd. in Jining, Shandong, planning to jointly build 50 NIO battery swap stations in the region. Jining High-tech Holding is a state-owned enterprise approved by the Jining High-tech Zone Management Committee. This collaboration will focus on the construction and operation of charging and battery swap infrastructures for new energy vehicles, as well as energy storage and battery recycling.
