Nexteer Automotive Celebrates Groundbreaking of New Smart Manufacturing Plant in Liuzhou
On July 24, Nexteer Automotive announced the completion of the groundbreaking ceremony for its new smart manufacturing plant located in Liuzhou. According to Jun Li, Global Vice President and Asia Pacific President of Nexteer, the Liuzhou facility is expected to produce a total of 10 million steering systems over the next ten years. The new factory is a relocation project, and the existing plant will be fully moved to this new site. Covering an area of over 40,000 square meters, the facility will be equipped with advanced amenities such as laboratories, test tracks, and employee centers, and is scheduled to officially commence operations in the first half of 2026. At that time, Nexteer will be better positioned to meet the strong demand from domestic and international vehicle manufacturers for advanced steering systems and motion control technologies, including Column Electric Power Steering (CEPS) systems, and controllers that provide excellent safety, maintainability, and layout advantages for intelligent vehicle platforms. Li further emphasized, 'By investing in smart and sustainable manufacturing, our Motion-by-Wire™ technology can significantly enhance vehicle safety performance and personalized integration experiences, proactively meeting customer needs and promoting the development of smart mobility.' The Liuzhou plant will closely collaborate with the Suzhou Asia Pacific Technology Center to integrate into Nexteer's global manufacturing framework and drive industry progress.
