On the morning of July 21, the State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on 'High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan'. Liu Wei, Minister of Transport, emphasized the importance of traffic service assurance for highways during holiday peak travel times. He noted two main risks: congestion around major cities and the strain on charging facilities for new energy vehicles at service areas. To address the busy service areas, the Ministry of Transport has implemented a 'one area, one policy' approach to enhance services. So far, 62,000 charging parking spots have been established, with a coverage rate of charging piles in service areas reaching 98.4%. This has effectively alleviated 'range anxiety', and the proportion of new energy vehicles on highways has increased to around 20% of daily traffic.
