July Production and Sales Report
According to reports, BYD announced that its car sales in July reached 344,296 units, a decrease of 8.8% month-on-month, compared to 342,383 units during the same period last year. Passenger car sales were 341,030 units, with pure electric passenger vehicles at 177,887 units and plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles at 163,143 units. From January to July, total car sales reached 2.49 million units, a year-on-year increase of 27%. Geely Automobile announced its July sales figures: passenger car sales reached 237,717 units, a year-on-year increase of 58%, marking 11 consecutive months of sales exceeding 200,000 units. In the first seven months of this year, the group’s cumulative sales exceeded 1.64 million units, moving closer to its annual sales target of 3 million units. NIO reported delivering 21,017 vehicles in July 2025, including 12,675 NIO brand vehicles, 5,976 from the Lada brand, and 2,366 from the Firefly brand. XPeng Motors announced record deliveries for July 2025, totaling 36,717 smart electric vehicles, a significant year-on-year increase of 229% and a 6% increase from June. In the first seven months of 2025, XPeng has delivered a total of 233,906 vehicles, a staggering 270% increase compared to the same period last year. By the end of July, XPeng's cumulative delivery volume surpassed 800,000 vehicles. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun reported that Xiaomi Cars delivered over 30,000 vehicles in July, reflecting a month-on-month growth of 20% and a year-on-year increase of 121%. Li Auto delivered 30,731 new cars in July 2025, bringing its cumulative delivery volume to 1,368,541 vehicles as of July 31, 2025. Leap Motor achieved a total delivery of 50,129 vehicles across its entire model range in July 2025, a year-on-year increase of 126%, setting a new monthly delivery record for the brand. In July 2025, Hongmeng Zhixing’s total sales reached 47,752 units, with total transaction volume of 18.6 billion yuan. The AITO series, in total, delivered 40,753 vehicles in July. Furthermore, Chery announced that it exported 119,100 vehicles in July and reached a cumulative export of 669,300 vehicles from January to July, becoming the first Chinese brand to exceed 5 million cumulative exports and has ranked first in China's passenger car exports for 22 consecutive years. SAIC's IM Motors recently introduced the 'Stellar' super extended range system, which combines a 1.5T engine with an electric motor and a 66kWh battery pack, offering a pure electric range of over 450 kilometers and a total range exceeding 1,500 kilometers. Reports also surfaced that Tesla has been delaying payments to suppliers in the North American market, leading to the bankruptcy of at least two small U.S. companies. In the past five years, contractors have filed lien claims against Tesla in Texas totaling over $110 million. Additionally, Denso reported a decline of 11% in operating profit for Q1 (April to June) to 107.2 billion yen, affected by U.S. import tariffs and a stronger yen. ZF Friedrichshafen also reported a decline in sales for the first half of the year, totaling €19.7 billion, down 10.3% from €22 billion during the same period last year, with a net loss of €195 million. The latest inventory warning index from the China Automobile Dealers Association showed that the index for July 2025 was at 57.2%, reflecting a decrease year-on-year but an increase month-on-month, indicating a slight decline in the automotive circulation industry's prosperity. The Guangzhou government reported that the city has achieved significant progress in the smart connected vehicle industry, with 17 companies collectively conducting over 1.3 million hours of autonomous driving technology testing. Lastly, the Guizhou Provincial Government issued a plan to boost consumption, emphasizing the importance of recycling and replacing old vehicles and appliances.
