Recently, a set of test spy photos of the Hyundai IONIQ 2 has emerged. This all-electric compact car is expected to feature a 58.3 kWh battery pack and a maximum power output of 150 kW (204 horsepower). The spy photos show that the new vehicle adopts the family design language of the Hyundai IONIQ series, highlighting a flat and wide hood that is easily recognizable. The front windshield is quite large, which is expected to provide good visibility while driving. The side profile of the car is very compact, but the nearly 'four wheels at four corners' design allows for relatively spacious passenger space. The new model features blacked-out low-drag wheels and is equipped with Hankook iON GT tires, aligning with the positioning of an all-electric compact car. The full and rounded rear end is a highlight, featuring a hatchback design. Additionally, the rear has a segmented design with the first layer of the rear window angled and the second layer more vertical, which provides a larger cargo space in the trunk. Currently, there is no further information regarding the powertrain, but insiders suggest that the new car will likely share the same powertrain as the EV2 and EV3. This means it will be developed on the Hyundai E-GMP platform, equipped with a 58.3 kWh battery pack and a single motor with a maximum power output of 150 kW (204 horsepower).
