Geely Reports July Sales Data with Significant Growth in New Energy Vehicles
On August 1, Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (0175.HK) announced its sales data for July: passenger vehicle sales reached 237,717 units, a year-on-year increase of 58%, marking the 11th consecutive month of sales exceeding 200,000 units. In the first seven months of this year, the group has accumulated sales of over 1.64 million units, moving closer to its annual sales target of 3 million units. In terms of new energy, Geely's new energy sales (including Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr) reached 130,124 units in July, a year-on-year increase of 120%, with a monthly new energy penetration rate of 55%. In total, Geely's new energy sales for the first seven months exceeded 850,000 units, up 126% year-on-year. Geely's Galaxy brand sold 95,043 units in July, a 237% increase year-on-year, with total sales for the first seven months reaching 640,000 units, a 233% increase. Notably, models such as the Geely Xingyuan, Geely Galaxy E5, and Geely Galaxy Xingyao 8 continue to lead in their respective segments. The Geely Xingyuan achieved a record high in July with sales of 44,286 units, maintaining sales above 40,000 for two consecutive months, with total historical sales surpassing 300,000 units. The Geely Galaxy E5 sold 13,816 units in July, maintaining an average monthly sales of over 10,000 units, with nearly 170,000 units sold since its launch a year ago. The Geely Galaxy Xingjian 7 EM-i continues to lead the A-Class hybrid SUV market, with total sales exceeding 100,000 units since its launch. The Geely Galaxy Xingyao 8 has shown strong growth, with July sales reaching 10,100 units, maintaining its position as the best-selling mid-to-high-end plug-in hybrid sedan in China for 11 consecutive weeks. As the second half of the year begins, Geely Galaxy has launched two significant new products to create new growth points for the brand. On July 11, the Geely Galaxy A7, touted as the 'new benchmark for global family cars,' began pre-sales with a competitive starting price of 97,800 yuan and substantial benefits, already securing a 'hot product' status ahead of its official launch on August 8. On July 24, the upgraded 2026 version of the Geely Galaxy E5 was unveiled, featuring a maximum range of 610 km and a starting price of 109,800 yuan, solidifying its position as the strongest pure electric SUV under 150,000 yuan. Additionally, Zeekr brand delivered 16,977 units in July, with the 300,000th Zeekr hunting vehicle successfully rolling off the production line, marking Zeekr as the leading brand in global hunting car sales. Several flagship models from Zeekr saw new developments in July: the Zeekr 9X, the first model to enter the hybrid market, features the Haohan-S architecture, boasting the longest pure electric range, fastest charging, and quickest acceleration among global hybrid SUVs, as well as being the first global SUV to feature closed dual-chamber air suspension and dual-valve CCD electromagnetic damping systems. It is also the first to debut with five laser radars and dual NVIDIA DRIVE Thor-U chips, and the first Chinese brand to incorporate a 48-volt active stabilizing bar, with a limited-time 'early access plan' set to begin pre-sales at the end of August. The four-seat ultra-luxury flagship Zeekr 009 Glorious Collection Edition will create the industry's first 'air delivery' ceremony for the first six customers, elevating the high-end travel experience from product dimensions to service ecology and redefining delivery standards for ultra-luxury vehicles. Lynk & Co's July sales reached 27,216 units, a 28% year-on-year increase, marking a milestone of 1.5 million units delivered in July. The Lynk & Co 900 surpassed 6,000 units in monthly deliveries, ranking among the top three in the high-end full-size hybrid SUV segment for three consecutive months, breaking through the 350,000 price segment for the brand. On July 4, Lynk & Co's first mid-to-large hybrid sedan, the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P, made its global debut, featuring standard four-wheel drive and laser radar, bringing high-end configurations to the mainstream auto market at the 200,000 yuan price point, setting a new standard for hybrid flagship vehicles. Lynk & Co has also introduced a new version of the Z20 and is set to release laser radar versions of the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P and 08 EM-P, further enriching user options. In the fuel vehicle market, Geely continues to maintain its leading position. In July, Geely China Star sold 98,481 units, a 15% year-on-year increase. By the end of July, cumulative sales of the Geely China Star high-end series surpassed 1.6 million units, while the Binrui family exceeded 1.5 million units. On the product front, several classic models including the fourth-generation Emgrand global 400 million commemorative version, Geely Bin Rui Super Max, and the 2026 ICON Chocolate received updates. The all-new generation Boyue made its official debut on July 18 and is set to launch in August. On July 15, Geely and Zeekr officially signed a merger agreement, taking a crucial step towards the 'One Geely' strategy. The merged Geely will achieve comprehensive coverage of various power forms, including fuel, pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel electric, completing full-scale layouts in the mainstream, mid-to-high-end, and luxury automotive markets, thereby enhancing competitiveness and corporate value. Geely's overseas expansion of new energy vehicles accelerated in July, achieving overseas export sales of 35,272 units, a 6% year-on-year increase; the cumulative overseas sales of Geely vehicles reached 219,000 units in the first seven months of this year. The Geely International EX5 continues to illuminate the overseas map: in July, Geely entered the Polish and Brazilian markets with the EX5 as its first model. In the Italian market, Geely signed a dealership agreement and plans to introduce the EX5 and a plug-in hybrid SUV. In Vietnam, both the Geely International EX5 and Geely Monjaro launched simultaneously, further enriching Geely's product matrix in Southeast Asia. More high-value new energy products are also accelerating their overseas expansion; on July 24, Geely showcased multiple new energy models, including the Geely Galaxy Xingjian 7 EM-i, Geely International EX5, and Geely Xingyuan at the Indonesia GIIAS auto show, further enhancing Geely's brand influence in the local market. In the European market, the latest Euro NCAP safety test results announced in July awarded the highest five-star safety rating to the Zeekr 7X and Lynk & Co Z20. The Lynk & Co Z20 became the top scorer among global SUVs for 2025, achieving a high score of 89 for its safety assistance systems, breaking Euro NCAP's historical record; the Zeekr 7X achieved the highest total score among global mid-size SUVs for 2025, with all Zeekr models sold in Europe now holding Euro NCAP five-star safety certification. Since the release of the "Taizhou Declaration," Geely has continued to promote its return to the 'One Geely' strategy, strengthening its global competitiveness and growth in the intelligent new energy vehicle field. In the second half of 2025, Geely will also launch five hybrid products, including the Zeekr 9X, Lynk & Co 10 EM-P, Geely Galaxy A7, and Geely Galaxy M9, striving to achieve the annual sales target of 3 million units.
