GAC Trumpchi Celebrates Production of 800,000th Luxury MPV
On July 31, GAC Trumpchi officially announced that the 800,000th production vehicle from its MPV family has rolled off the assembly line, making it the first Chinese brand to reach this milestone in the luxury MPV segment. This also marks the 450,000th production vehicle from the Trumpchi M8 family. Since its push into the mid-to-high-end MPV market in 2017, GAC Trumpchi has quickly captured the market with models such as the Trumpchi M8, M6, and E8, becoming the first domestic brand to launch a luxury MPV. The latest model to roll off the production line is the Trumpchi M8 Harmony Cabin version, priced at 329,900 yuan. The new vehicle features a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a 17.3-inch 3K resolution HD ceiling screen, dual 5-inch armrest screens for the second-row seats, and a streaming media rearview mirror. It runs on the HarmonyOS operating system, supporting touch, voice, and gesture controls, allowing for seamless multi-screen interactions, vehicle-home connectivity, and smart key functionalities. The vehicle can be unlocked through various methods including a mobile app, NFC card, and physical key, and owners can remotely authorize others to unlock the doors via the GAC Trumpchi app. In terms of power, the Trumpchi M8 Harmony Cabin version is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T engine and a front-mounted single motor, delivering a combined maximum power of 300 kW and a peak torque of 645 Nm, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8 seconds. The pure electric range under CLTC conditions is 248 km, while the comprehensive range under WLTC conditions is 1,177 km, paired with a GMC 400 two-speed DHT (2AT) transmission. The battery features a CATL Xiaoyao enhanced hybrid ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 44.5 kWh, which can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 14 minutes under fast charging mode. Additionally, all models come standard with a 6 kW external discharge function.
