A study released by the European Transport and Environment Organization indicates that if the EU maintains its 2035 zero-emission car target and implements supportive transformation policies, the European automotive industry could recover to an annual production level of 16.8 million vehicles. Conversely, if the EU fails to adopt any industrial strategy and abandons the 2035 target, it could result in a loss of 1 million jobs in the automotive sector and cause two-thirds of battery investment plans to fail.
