On July 29, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council announced the establishment of the China Chang'an Automobile Group Co., Ltd., approved by the State Council. This marks the first central enterprise headquartered in Chongqing to officially start operations. The new central enterprise was formed from the former Equipment Development Group and comprises 117 subsidiaries and branches, focusing on vehicle manufacturing, automotive components, sales, motorcycles, financial and logistics services. The head of China Chang'an Automobile Group stated that the new enterprise will emphasize the development of intelligent automotive robotics and embodied intelligence, explore a new ecological travel model across land, sea, and air, and accelerate its global expansion into markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Central and South America, Eurasia, and Europe. Following this reform, there are now 100 central enterprises under the supervision of SASAC, with China Chang'an Automobile Group ranked 73rd in the central enterprise directory. This establishes a framework of three major state-owned automobile groups in China: China First Automobile Works, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, and China Chang'an Automobile, which will better support the high-quality development of the intelligent, connected new energy vehicle industry and accelerate the growth of globally competitive world-class brands.
