Changan Automobile Group Established in Chongqing

Changan Automobile Group Established in Chongqing
On July 29, the founding ceremony of Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was held in Chongqing, marking the commencement of operations for the first central enterprise headquartered in Chongqing. This development adds to the three major central automotive groups in China: China FAW, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, and Changan Automobile. The head of Changan Automobile Group stated that the new central enterprise will focus on developing intelligent automotive robots and embodied intelligence, exploring a new ecological system for land, sea, and air transportation, and accelerating globalization efforts in five key regional markets: Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Central and South America, Eurasia, and Europe. Currently, the official social media avatars of Changan Automobile, Avita, and Changan Qiyuan have all been changed to feature the words 'New Changan'. Under the empowerment of the 'new central enterprise', Avita is set to embark on a new journey of new potential and manufacturing. According to reports, Avita has completed its three-year, four-vehicle strategic plan, with 17 new products slated for release by 2030. The Avita intelligent factory has an annual production capacity of 280,000 vehicles, building the strength to create a world-class new luxury brand. Avita has already entered 25 countries and established 55 channels, with a goal to expand to 50 countries and over 160 channels by the end of 2025. On July 27, when the Avita intelligent factory was officially inaugurated, Chen Zhuo, President of Avita Technology, stated, 'With the establishment of the new central enterprise, the support Avita receives will be even stronger.' It is understood that this factory, previously known as the 'Changan Automobile Intelligent Factory', produced models including the Changan Qiyuan E06, Deep Blue S06, and Avita 07. The renaming to 'Avita Intelligent Factory' signifies that this facility will now exclusively serve Avita Technology for manufacturing its automotive brands. Positioned as a high-end intelligent electric vehicle brand, Avita has been carrying the responsibility of Changan Automobile's premium strategy since its inception. According to data from their official website, in June of this year, Changan Automobile achieved sales of 235,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%. From January to June, total sales reached 1.355 million units, up 1.6% year-on-year. Notably, new energy vehicles sold 452,000 units in the first half of the year, marking a 49.1% year-on-year growth. Avita's sales in June reached 10,153 units, a staggering 117% increase, marking four consecutive months of sales exceeding 10,000 units.
