On July 16, 2025, Ample Automotive, a leading mobility solutions provider and a preferred partner of top global automotive brands, signed a joint venture agreement with GAC to officially start distributing GAC-branded electric vehicles in the UK. GAC Group is one of China's largest automobile manufacturers, renowned worldwide for its safety, quality, technological innovation, and commitment to sustainability. In April this year, Ample Automotive also announced that it won the agency dealership partnership with GAC Group in Poland amid fierce competition from local and international enterprises. This innovative joint venture project represents one of the first collaborations of its kind for Chinese automobile manufacturers in the UK market and will be formally established after completing relevant regulatory and antitrust approval processes. The long-term development potential of the UK electric vehicle market is enormous. According to data released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) in May 2025, the registration of pure electric vehicles (BEVs) increased by 25.8% year-on-year, accounting for 21.8% of total new car sales, highlighting strong growth momentum in the adoption of electric vehicles in the UK. The signing of this agreement further expands Ample Automotive's existing business layout in the UK market. Previously, Ample Automotive had been responsible for the local distribution of the commercial electric vehicle brand, Yuanlong Automotive, and this cooperation marks the company's first introduction of passenger car brands to the UK market. Through this collaboration, both parties will bring more new electric vehicle options to the UK market, contributing to market growth and providing consumers with richer mobility choices. The first models to be introduced to the UK market will be two pure electric vehicle models from the GAC AION brand: the C-class SUV AION V and the B-class hatchback electric vehicle AION UT. AION models showcase GAC's core advantages in quality and technology, having won multiple international awards, perfectly aligning with the growing demand for high-quality electric vehicles among UK consumers. The new vehicles will be sold through designated retail partners within the UK, with the first customer deliveries expected by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Both parties will subsequently introduce more AION brand models to further enrich the product lineup. Ample Automotive's CEO, Wang Yuping, stated, "The establishment of this joint venture with GAC reflects our shared vision for the future of mobility and provides an important opportunity to meet the increasing demand for intelligent and green passenger vehicles in the UK market. Driven by customer demand and guided by our professional experience, Ample Automotive will continue to lead the industry, committed to providing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions." GAC International's General Manager, Wei Haigang, noted, "Entering the UK market is a key step in GAC's globalization process. We will take this landing as a starting point to bring industry-leading products and first-class services to UK consumers." As one of China's leading automobile manufacturers, GAC ranks 181st in the Fortune Global 500, receiving widespread recognition in the global market for its excellent product quality, advanced technological solutions, and long-term commitment to sustainability. GAC's main business encompasses seven major sectors, including R&D, complete vehicles, components, energy and ecology, internationalization, commerce and mobility, and investment and finance. In terms of industry chain integrity, GAC is one of China's most comprehensive automotive groups. To date, GAC's business has expanded to 84 countries and regions worldwide, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Leveraging strong innovation-driven growth, GAC has achieved significant breakthroughs in its globalization process, with overseas sales of GAC's self-owned brand models exceeding 100,000 units for the first time in 2024, marking a year-on-year growth of 92.3%. Ample Automotive represents numerous globally renowned commercial and passenger vehicle brands, with operations across more than 10 countries and regions, including the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia. This collaboration marks another important step for Ample Automotive in its ongoing journey of international development, demonstrating its firm commitment to driving the future of mobility through innovation.
