On July 24, the 2026 Geely Galaxy E5 Long Range was officially launched, maintaining the same price range as the 2024 model, priced between 109,800 to 145,800 Yuan. The new model offers five variants with a significant upgrade in range, increasing the maximum range from 530 km to 610 km. The Galaxy E5 is equipped with a battery that meets the stringent requirements of the new national standards ahead of schedule, optimized chassis tuning, and introduces two new colors: 'Late Forest Green' and 'Dawn Blue'. As electric mobility rapidly spreads, 'range anxiety' remains a major concern for users worldwide. The 2026 Galaxy E5 addresses this by improving battery technology, enhancing the maximum range from 530 km to 610 km at no extra cost, thus greatly expanding consumers' travel radius, better meeting city commuting needs, and significantly reducing charging frequency. A previous variant with a range of 440 km has also been upgraded to 530 km. The 610 km version features an additional 8 kWh of battery capacity, allowing for the supply of an extra 6.5 kWh for scenarios such as camping and emergency power needs. Tests indicate that the 610 km model can power an induction cooker for 2 hours, a refrigerator for 3 hours, and a projector for 4 hours, providing extended external power supply. In emergency situations like power outages, the 2026 Galaxy E5 can serve as a backup power source for electric kettles and even microwave ovens. Addressing the higher expectations for smart travel among consumers of A-class electric SUVs, the Galaxy FlymeAuto intelligent cockpit system has been upgraded, with the in-car Gaode Map introducing a new green wave navigation feature and enhanced HUD display effects. The new car wash mode allows users to close all windows, sunroofs, and the trunk with one button, automatically activate the air conditioning recirculation, and disable the proximity unlock and lock functions, significantly simplifying pre-wash preparations. The QQ Music now includes a FlymeSound section, enabling immersive surround sound comparable to high-end audio systems from any position in the car. The upgraded FlymeAuto also adds an energy center 'End Charging' button, customizable lock sounds, and new zero-pressure space for WANOS surround sound, along with enhancements to the vehicle's AI features and voice control capabilities. Moreover, the chassis of the 2026 Galaxy E5 has undergone over a million kilometers of verification through fine-tuned digital adjustments, achieving a 20% improvement in shock absorption performance, thus ensuring a balance of comfort and driving pleasure. Safety remains a top priority for Geely, which has been manufacturing vehicles for nearly 30 years. The 2026 Galaxy E5 is equipped with the industry-leading Shield Blade battery, which has successfully passed stringent safety tests, including the '8-pin piercing' test and a world-first 5.8 mm real bullet penetration test. Recently, the battery withstood extreme pressure from a 36-ton tank during testing, enduring about 1.8 times the pressure required by the new national standards, with only superficial damage observed and no signs of swelling, leakage, fire, or explosion.
