2025 International Automobile and Supply Chain Expo Opens in Hong Kong

The 2025 International Automobile and Supply Chain Expo officially opened at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on June 12, 2025, under the theme 'New Automobile · New Journey'. The expo features nine halls and six core exhibition areas, attracting over 300 exhibitors. Hong Kong's Chief Executive John Lee attended the opening ceremony and stated that the Hong Kong government will leverage the city's advantages in three areas to assist companies in exploring the golden path of the new energy vehicle industry: consolidating the capital market, firmly developing innovation and technology, and promoting sustainable development. He emphasized that Hong Kong will continue to utilize the advantages of 'One Country, Two Systems' to promote the high-quality development of the automotive industry, welcoming global automotive companies to invest and develop in Hong Kong, and jointly explore a prosperous path for green and intelligent travel. The Chief Chairman of the Hong Kong International Automobile and Supply Chain Expo Organizing Committee, Lu Jinrong, pointed out that China’s new energy vehicle industry has developed rapidly in recent years, becoming the first country in the world to have an annual production of over 10 million new energy vehicles. To align with the active international expansion of Chinese automotive and supply chain brands, the expo is being held in Hong Kong for the first time, showcasing the strength of the Chinese automotive industry to the world and hoping to instill pride in Hong Kong citizens about the country's technological advancements and industrial achievements. Sun Dong, Director of the Innovation and Technology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, mentioned that significant progress has been made in promoting the automotive industry in Hong Kong, with more leading domestic and international new energy vehicle and related companies choosing to establish R&D centers, international headquarters, or go public in Hong Kong. This not only brings new economic momentum to Hong Kong but also creates a large number of quality job opportunities, accelerating the city’s development into an international innovation and technology hub. The exhibition is co-hosted by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, and the Hong Kong Chinese Manufacturers' Association, gathering 11 mainland automotive groups that brought over a hundred of the latest domestic electric vehicles to the exhibition. The exhibition areas focus on showcasing breakthrough achievements in high-precision battery technology, lightweight materials, and AI-driven logistics solutions, helping companies optimize production efficiency and reduce carbon footprints. Classic supercars, vintage cars, and a range of new energy buses are also on display for car enthusiasts.
