Hesai's ATX LiDAR Receives ISO 26262 ASIL B Certification, Company Leads World in Certified Products

Hesai Technology announced on June 14th that its automotive-grade, ultra-compact, high-definition long-range LiDAR, the ATX, has officially received ISO 26262 ASIL B functional safety product certification from the international testing and certification body SGS-TÜV. This certification provides a crucial safety guarantee for the mass production of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

ISO 26262 is the globally recognized and most authoritative standard for automotive functional safety, covering the entire product lifecycle from management and concept to system, hardware, and software development. The standard ensures that automotive electrical and electronic systems meet the most stringent, internationally recognized safety standards to mitigate potential risks and protect occupants.

The ATX is Hesai’s fourth LiDAR product to receive this certification, following the Pandar128, QT128, and AT128. This achievement strengthens Hesai’s “safety triangle” layout, which encompasses functional safety, cybersecurity, and SOTIF (Safety of the Intended Functionality). With this latest certification, Hesai has become the company with the most ISO 26262 certified LiDAR products in the industry.

The certification process for the ATX LiDAR, conducted by SGS-TÜV, began during the product’s design phase and concluded this June.

As of the first quarter of this year, the Hesai ATX has already been selected for series production models by 12 major automotive manufacturers and is planned as a standard configuration for many of their 2025 model year vehicles. The product officially entered mass production at the end of March, with nearly 40,000 units delivered in the first quarter.
