BMW has officially announced the BMW 540i xDrive Legacy Edition, a special version of the sedan created exclusively for the Canadian market. Production will be limited to just 151 units, with orders now open for Canadian customers. Deliveries are expected in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a starting price of $94,500 CAD (excluding freight and taxes).
The Legacy Edition maintains the design language of the standard 5 Series but comes equipped with the M Sport Pro body kit and is finished in an exclusive “Maldives Blue II Metallic” paint. The front features the signature large kidney grille paired with twin-bar LED daytime running lights.
As a standard wheelbase model, the car boasts well-proportioned lines, with front and rear fenders that flare slightly for a wider stance. It includes hidden door handles, blacked-out window trim, and 21-inch twin-five-spoke wheels. The vehicle measures 5060mm (L) x 1900mm (W) x 1515mm (H) with a 2995mm wheelbase and has a curb weight of 1982 kg.
The rear features slim taillights with twin-bar light signatures and a contrasting color rear bumper with a dual-outlet exhaust system, enhancing its sporty look.
Inside, the Legacy Edition mirrors the standard model’s design with a black-and-white dual-tone color scheme. It is equipped with the large curved display running the latest iDrive 8.5 system and an 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.
Under the hood, the car is powered by a 3.0T turbocharged inline-six engine, producing 375 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. This is paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and the xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is a swift 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
